Blue Beetle unseats Barbie from No 1 spot
DC’s “Blue Beetle” opened over the weekend with an opening weekend box office of $25.4m, taking the top spot from “Barbie,” which has had a record-setting run in cinemas and took $21.5m in its fifth weekend. “Oppenheimer” was third with $10.6m and has now grossed $285.2m domestically and $717.8m globally. Meanwhile, Universal’s R-rated “Strays” landed in fifth place, with $8.4m, and Paramount’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” took fourth place with $8.4m. “Blue Beetle” is the first DC movie to feature a Latino superhero in a leading role.Blue Beetle unseats Barbie from No 1 spot
